Can I use my IRA funds for a short term loan?

Yes - you are permitted to take money from your IRA as long as you deposit it into another IRA, or back in the same IRA, within 60 days.

Note: if cash comes out then cash must go back in - you cannot buy stock with the cash taken out and then try to deposit the stock into the IRA.
